Sweet One Donut Milestone: Happy Birthday, Zoe!

When Zoe's mom called me and said they wanted to "go all out" for their sweet girl's One-derful Milestone Session, I knew that they came to the right milestone photographer. I may be just a smidge extra, but when it comes to celebrating your babes, there is no other way to be. And MAN, can Zoe smash a cake! I had the most amaaaazing time planning Zoe's Milestone session out. The smash cake was epic, and when she showed up with those big eyes and delicious cheeks, I knew we were going to make magic. We had such an amazing time celebrating Zoe's first year with her Donut-themed cake smash, one year portraits! Check out more information about Milestone Portraits on my investment page! Lauren Lewis with Raise a Little Love Photography has been named as a top Indianapolis area family photographer. She specializes in capturing family, milestone, and newborn lifestyle moments.

Swain Coming Home

I probably say this about every single newborn lifestyle session that I have the privilege of getting to document, but I'll say it again: I love documenting you in your love. There is something so incredibly elegant in the rawness that comes with adjusting to a new life. The Swains are no exception (and some of my very favorite clients!) The perfectly imperfect moments in Lifestyle Photography are what I love so much about newborn sessions, because it depicts those early days of family life so incredibly well. Thank you Swains, for choosing me to capture your connections and sweet baby boy! Lauren Lewis is an Indianapolis, Indiana Family Photographer. She specializes in Family, Newborn Lifestyle, and Milestone Portraits for Indianapolis and it's surrounding areas.

Seeing Motherhood

Mothers, more than anything in the world, need to be seen. Why? Because our work is love, and when that love is poured daily into tiny humans with developing brains and bodies, it gets (more than) a little thankless. Little people, who are busy doing all their learning and reaching and growing, can’t see the love and effort poured into them in every action we take. They don’t see the dishes. The laundry. The appointments and schedules and activities. From the moment they wake up in the morning until the moment they shut their eyes at night (and wake, again, and again, and again...), we pour, we fill, we do, we love. So often, (too often!) it remains unseen. Our kids can’t see our love, because they are wrapped up in it. Mothers- we need to be seen. We need to know that the endless days and sleepless nights hold value. We need to feel valued. That gets lost in the trash holding, sippy cup pouring, mom-I-need, taxi-running, laundry loading chaos of the day to day minutia. But momma. I see you. I see the beautiful in your ordinary moments with your children. I see how hard you love them, deep down to the marrow of your bones. It's how I fell so head over heels in love with photography. It's not just about seeing. It's about being seen. Photography illuminates the simple connection and bonds you have with your children. Images reflect your love back to you. You don’t just see your children’s perfect faces, the clothes, the location. You are seen. That’s my job. That’s what I see and feel every time I pick up a camera. My job is to reflect the beauty in your love, in your struggle, in your effort. It’s for the mom who feels like she’s failing, who feels like a mess, but who shows up in love for her family anyway. Your heart is extraordinary. Your struggle is beautiful. Your ordinary is breathtaking. Your love is real. And you deserve moments captured that reflect that. You deserve to be seen. Thank you Meagan, for allowing me to capture your motherhood and your beautiful children for you. You're an absolute light to your family, and it's an honor to show that light back to you.

3 Epic Family Summer Minis You Don't Want to Miss

Just two more weeks until summer, and let me tell you: I. Can't. Wait. My Littles are filling the car with tunes of "Kindergarten here we come, here we come!" as they prepare for preschool graduation. Family soccer schedules are winding down (ps. does anyone have tips on quick and healthy meals for crazy sports and photo session schedules?) and we are starting to carve out plans for lots of summer family fun. It's such a strange feeling, when you realize that your kids are finally old enough that getting ready to adventure somewhere ISN'T a 40 minute ordeal to get out of the house. *Sighs in sweet relief*. And how amazing does a small taste of normal feel? WE CAN ACTUALLY MAKE PLANS YOU GUYS!!! So while you are busy planning out an epic 2021 summer, make sure you add in some epic family minis. Gather up your littles in your freshly sun-kissed arms, and let's make some memories!! Make Sure you check out my Minis Page for lots of great Mini Q&A!!! June 18-Creek Stomp Minis I look forward to Creek Stomp minis every year now. There's nothing that screams authentic family childhood sessions like messy, wet, dirty fun. The creek stomp minis typically take place in Zionsville's Creekside Nature Park, but will depend on the rain levels that week (safety first!) with a backup location at Cool Creek. Choose your time slot here. Sunflower Fields Forever Sunflower Mini family sessions are hands down one of my most popular minis of the YEAR. I mean- who doesn't love dancing in a field of sunflowers with the people you love most in the world? Unfortunately- they're also the most finicky of all of my sessions, as we are guided by the summer sun, rain, and mother nature as to when these blooms are at their most majestic. We can usually bet the sunflower fields will be at their peak around late July/Early August. Contact me to get on my mailing list so you can have first dibs when these go live! Sept 11 Appley- Ever After Apple Orchard Minis! These take place at Stuckey Farms in Sheridan, IN, during golden hour in September. Families travel from all over Indianapolis to visit Stuckey Farms every year. These family minis are perfect for those holding out for slightly-cooler temps. I do have some light sets that add to (not take away from) the gorgeous location- blankets and pillows for tickle fights, a ladder for reaching high for the apples, a velvet antique chair for portraits. Check out last year's apple orchard minis in the video, and choose your time slot here! No matter what you choose, we will have the most AMAZING summer fun ever, so we can hold onto the summer of 2021 with love, joy... and a little bit of crazy. See you soon! XOXO, Lauren

James Golf Cake Smash || Westfield Milestone Photographer

I was SOOOO excited when James' Mom reached out to me for his one year cake smash, because I also got to capture his Coming Home Session when he was born- my first session fresh after the initial shut down here in Indiana. What a beautiful, full circle life is! His parents are absolutely the SWEETEST people ever, and they wanted to incorporate dad's love of golf into his cake smash. Laranda (my go to cake smash friend) hit the ball out of the park with this custom golf themed cake. I love the icing that just got absolutely EVERYWHERE. Making this smash even more special- his grandma hand made the banner hanging in the back. What a beautiful labor of love! Enough about all the details; here is the cutest face ever making the best, most adorable golf course sized mess. Happy Birthday, James! Lauren Lewis with Raise a Little Love Photography specializes in family, childhood, and milestone photographer in the Indianapolis, Indiana area, with special Attention to Noblesville, Westfield, Carmel, Sheridan, Cicero, and Zionsville.

Seniors 2021: Malcom at Noblesville Town Square

I had the privilege of getting to capture Malcom's senior photos a little over a week ago. It's so fascinating to me, getting to document an infant's beginning, in the midst of raising littles, and then capturing them as they head into adulthood. There's a strange progression, as if I'm observing life in a blink, from precious to proud. I love listening to the pride in mom's voice. This sense of "I did it. We did it. I raised a great kid." And really, Malcom is pretty great... I love shooting in Downtown Noblesville. It's got such great architecture, texture, and a ton of great variation in a short distance. Plus, I'm a sucker for small town vibes, particularly with seniors, because it's such a beautiful starting place from... I started here, but the world is the limit for how far I'll go. Lauren Lewis is an Indianapolis area family photographer specializing in Families, Seniors, and Milestones.

Parker's 6 Month Milestone || Westfield Lifestyle Photographer

Parker's Mom and I clicked from our very first phone consult. The self certified hot-mess moms with amazing kids who hustle like mad but still feel like we can't get it together? Yea, you're my people. At first, we planned on doing Parker's sitter session in studio, but nap schedules intervened and we decided to switch to an in-home styled milestone session instead. And oh boy, I am really glad that we did. I love love love a chunky baby boy who adores his mama. He just started sitting up a week or so before our session. Perfect timing, because goodness knows everyone loves a baby booty. Aren't they just perfect? Lauren Lewis with Raise a Little Love Photography is a family lifestyle photographer, specializing in family, newborn, and milestone sessions. She runs around the Indianapolis area with her camera and a smile, serving families in Indy, Carmel, Noblesville, Westfield, Zionsville, Cicero, Sheridan, and it's surrounding areas.

Cora's Wild One Cake Smash || Indianapolis Area Milestone Photographer

I had SO. MUCH. FUN planning Cora's Wild One cake smash with her mama, my incredible cake baker, and Tonya's Flower Barn. Cora's mom wanted a boho, wildflower type of vibe for her cake smash, and I hit the ground running. Laranda killed the cake, hand painting little peachy toned wildflowers into the sides of her "naked" cake. Tonya helped me decide on the perfect color scheme, and even my daughter pitched in, helping me shop for props (Hobby Lobby for the win!) and line up the fresh florals to hang in the pecan colored backdrop, hung between lace curtains. (Check out my reels on Instagram to see how we put everything together!) The best part- other than plotting together and sending a few excited texts back and forth, Chelsea, a busy mama, fiancé, AND law student (I mean, what can't this lady do?!), didn't have to worry about a thing beyond showing up with her sweet wild one. Lauren Lewis with Raise a Little Love Photography is an Indianapolis Area Family Photographer specializing in Lifestyle moments with Families, Newborns, and documenting big milestones and little moments.

Andert Family Coming Home || Carmel Newborn Lifestyle Photographer

There's a halo of love and peace that engulfs anyone who walks into the Andert Family Home. The sense of fulfilled hope for baby Benjamin pours out of their pores and fills you up with so much joy for their yearned for baby, that you just want to sit in it with them and soak in every perfect detail that is Ben. A baby is always, always a blessing. But when a baby is hoped for, yearned for, strived for, for 7 years... I wanted to make sure that every single moment of the Andert Family's new life together was perfectly captured. Happy Coming Home, Ben! You are one lucky, loved little guy. Lauren Lewis with Raise a Little Love Photography is an Indianapolis Area Family Photographer, specializing in Lifestyle Moments with Families, Newborns, and Milestones... and all of the little moments in between.

Warren Family Newborn Coming Home + Maternity Sessions

I am soooo excited to show off the Warren's newborn, Rowan, and his amazing mom and dad. Let me preface this: I have a hard time NOT becoming attached to my families. I love them. I word vomit newborn tips and tricks as they adjust for light and snuggle and breathe in that sweet baby smell. I vent with them over the lack of breastfeeding support in hospitals. We chat over every detail of their new lives together, her pregnancy, the birth, and figuring out this new life together. Soaking in the dark circles under their eyes and the dreamy love-obsessed look on their faces, I want to swim in those moments with them, because they are so vital. So beautiful. So raw. Enter Bailey and Austin. They are the most amiable, real, gregarious people and to meet them is to want to instantly be friends. Rowan is one lucky dude, to be so cherished and enwrapped in such a happy home. They booked the mini maternity/newborn lifestyle package and I'm so glad they did, because I got to soak in their family twice as much!! Whitney's Maternity Session || Indianapolis Motherhood Photography

There is a blooming type of magic that happens to mothers during their maternity photoshoot. Growing a tiny human being is HARD work. We get sick, toss and turn during sleepless nights, are constantly exhausted, our body is changing, and we don't feel good a large chunk of time. You DESERVE to feel like a goddess, to carve out time to celebrate what a beautiful gift you have growing inside of you. To feel like the glowing, earth mama, maternal queen that you are. Whitney is an absolute dream. Her hair and make up was out of this world, and her family is so warm and friendly. We had so much fun planning out every detail of this maternity session. I love photographing sessions at Westermier Commons, particularly during the gloomy, chilly days in late February, because you can still get that gorgeous, golden glow no matter what time of year.
